5. Skadar Lake- the Meditative Wonder of the Wild
A perfect day in nature awaits on Lake Skadar, the largest lake on the Balkans that touches the borders of Albania and Montenegro. Driving up along a winding road that travels through forested mountains is just one of the many photo ops you can take advantage of on this journey. Hop on a boat and cruise along River Crnojevića, munching on Montenegrin fritters, cheese and honey. Skadar wetlands are home to over 280 species of birds - be on the lookout for the curly pelican, the park's trademark. Wrap up the day with a visit to a local winery and a truly local lunch - fish from the lake.
